Modelling process
I began my modelling process with a basic female body mesh
that was provided for us to use from the VLE, this model however had numerous
Ngons which I had to go in and hand fix using the weld target tool on the mesh
this merges vertices and lowers the poly count both increasing my work flow and
ease when it Comes to UV’ing
Once I was happy with the editing I had done on the
character I saved it to make sure I had a copy in case of crashes in Maya, once
this was completed I began manipulating the geometry on the female character to
get a better shape than the default one which seemed slightly off, I did this
by using the soft select to bring in her hips and manipulate the general shape
of her head. I used the soft select tool because it allows me to keep the
organic shape of the mesh because moving edges individually will create
geometry that seems to blocky for that of an organic creature but is fine for
none organic structures.
